Works at Rackerhayes
There will be some work going on to re-instate the link between Dores Pond and Island Pond on November 18th and 19th. This will help in a number of ways:
1. The water levels in these ponds should become much more stable
2. The algal blooms experienced in the summer should be reduced/stopped by circulating water
3. Some reduction in weed growth may result due to increased water movement.
The Environment Agency support this work and we hope all Club members will benefit in the long term. Please be aware there will be a digger working between mineshaft swim on Dores and Island ponds - Cheese spot so these areas will be closed on these days. Anyone who has some spare time and would like to help with the work contact any Committee members.
