September 14th Update. Junior News
N.A.F.A. Juniors have been busy over the last couple of weeks with the finale of both of their Summer Leagues.
The final match of the "Teign Trophy" Summer League was held on Wheel Pond leading to a tight finish to the league. Winner on the day was Elliot Fay with 6k 620g of carp on pole and pellet. Second was Ben Avery, again with carp on the pole for 4k 200g, and third was Kingsley Davis with 3k 100g.
There was a points tie at the top of the league between Sam Powell and Ashley Smith, Sam having a superior weight total through the league ran out winner, Ashley second, and Ben Avery a close third.
In the Torbay Angling Evening League, the final match was again held on Wheel Pond. Winner on the night was George Bannister with all carp for 4k 240g. Second was Ashley Smith with 2k 760g, again carp, and third was Elliot Fay with 2k 600g. Again there was a tie on points at the top, this time between Elliot Fay and Ashley Smith. Again Ashley lost out on weight countback, meaning Elliot was first, Ashley second, third was Liam Dore and fourth Ben Avery.
Many thanks to both Torbay Angling and Teign Trophy Centre for their generous sponsorship of these events.
Elsewhere odd tench are still showing on all the Rackerhayes ponds, while Dores is also producing bream and carp. The Preston Ponds and Bradley Pond are still fishing well for skimmers, roach, and the odd tench. Fish Wapperwell for carp, tench, skimmers and roach, Spring and Charlecombe for carp to double figures and silvers.
