I don’t think any of us who fished the Club Christmas Open thought it could get any colder. It just goes to show how wrong you can be!! Despite this a couple of recent matches have produced some decent weights.January 4th Report 400907



N.A.F.A. Seniors have held two matches over the Christmas period, participants braving some extremely cold conditions.January 4th Report 400907


The Club Christmas Match was the first, held on Bradley Pond. Winner was Rick Johnston on Peg 7 with skimmers on the ground bait feeder for 4k 650g. Second was Mark Cousins with 2k 900g on Peg 24, again skimmers on the feeder, and third was John Durham on Peg 9 with 2k 650g.


The first round of the Tackle Trader Winter League was also held on Bradley. Winner was Gary Webber on Peg 18 with mainly roach on pole and maggot for 3k 650g. Second was Tim Rowe on Peg 9 with skimmers on the feeder for 3k 150g, and third was Mark Newman on Peg 24 with a similar catch for 2k 750g.


This weekend sees the first round of the Junior Oakford Winter League to be held at Spring Ponds on Saturday. The draw will be at 10 am at the ponds.
