March Update. Well it has been quite a winter but things are looking up as the report below shows.

At a recent Committee meeting it was decided that given the financial climate it would be wise to manage the Club's finances prudently this year.

With the stock from Spring Ponds providing a shot in the arm on Rackerhayes stocking will be conservative this year. Once the Carp in the stock pond reach a half pound or so they will be moved on and replaced with fingerlings to grow on as before.

Swim building will take place on all waters but it will be more maintenace rather than major new construction. Bank erosion will also be dealt with as and when volunteers allow.

If out on the waters please be aware that there have been a few thefts recently so make sure all your possessions are secure. Better safe than sorry. Money has been spent to repair fences etc. at Rackerhayes and PLEASE KEEP THE GATES LOCKED.

N.A.F.A. waters are returning to form after the long winter, with catches improving by the week as water temperatures start to rise steadily.

At RackerhayEs, Dores Pond is producing bream and the odd carp. One angler netted nine bream between 5lb and 8lb on feeder fished pellet at Homers Lane, while carp anglers are reporting fish to the low 20's on boilies.

Both Island and Weedy have benefitted from the introduction of carp netted from Spring Ponds with both ponds producing catches of up to eight carp up to double figures. Wheel is producing carp to 5lb on corrn and pellet. As yet, no reports have come in from First or Linhay, but any information is welcomed!

At Preston Ponds, Key is still a little slow, but roach and skimmers can be caught with a little patience, while at Eddison and Sawmills it is a similar story.

At Bradley recent rainfall has kept the water coloured and, as a result, many good nets of fish have been caught. The standout catch was by David Bridgeman who pole fished sweetcorn over groundbait on Peg 20 for a total weight of 35lb, consisting of skimmers and bream to 2 1/2 lb plus a single carp of 3lb.

At Wapperwell skimmers, carp and the odd tench are showing on pole, waggler or feeder fished corn or pellet.
