March 17th Update
Wapperwell pond was the venue for the last N.A.F.A. Club Match.
Cold winds made conditions difficult for the participants, although some good weights were taken.
Winner on the day was Max Palmer on Peg 9 with 8k 650g consisting of 12 skimmers and 3 carp on long pole and pellets. Second was John Durham on Peg 17 with skimmers and roach for 4k 900g, and third was Sam Powell with an all roach net for 4k 300g. The next match is on Sunday 21st March at Wapperwell - please book in with Max at (01626 331613)
N.A.F.A. Intermediates and Juniors fished the third round of the Winter League on Bradley Pond.
Winner of the 'Intermediates' was Sam Powell with 1k 600g, and second was Liam Dore with 800g.
In the Junior section, top weight was by Ashley Smith with 580g, Second was Elliott Fay with 470g, third and fourth places were taken by Alex and Claire Daniels respectively. The next Junior match is on Saturday 20th March at Spring Ponds, 10am draw at the pond.
Elsewhere, at Rackerhayes, Dores Pond has produced the first specimen carp of the year, the best being a 25lb mirror. Both Dores and Island are producing tench to 7lb on maggots and pellets. Wheel Pond for carp to 5lb on corn or pellet.
