Hi all
I'm Paul skipper of the charter boat Castaway based at Portishead and fishing the Bristol Channel.
Bad news is I have sold my boat !!!!!!
Good news is I have a new Evolution 30 being built (not quick enough)as I write this, Castaway was a Evolution 33 and was a fine vessel cruising at around 16 knots but quite expensive to run the Catapillar 420 hp engine.Although the Evo 30 is 3 feet shorter than the 33 there is more deck area due to the cabin being moved forward and made smaller, There are only 3 Evo's afloat but all the reports coming back state that the boat is a huge success with sea keeping and cruising at around 23 knots, this will open up more areas of the Bristol Channel with a greater variety of fish.
Will keep you updated as the boat build progresses and hopefully a launch date.
Cheers all Paul

Hi all
Its been some time since i gave you an update so here goes.
After 4 months of indecision and financal delays I can now state money has changed hands and my boat build is now under way.I have gone with a Evolution 30 with a 420hp Iveco built by Breaksea Boats based here at Weston-S-Mare. What brought me to choose this boat, was the delivery of a new Evo 30 called "Preditor 2" owned by Alex Kweller based at Poole.
We launched at Plymouth and set sail for Poole but as the day progressed the wind came up to 6-7 easterly, the boat handled amazingly and kept a dry deck. Weather forecast was crap so we stopped over in Brixham and finished the delivery next day.
My new boat will be called the "Ruby D" after my parents, her colour is blue and white. I will try to upload some build pics for you and keep you informed of the launch date,(around June)

Cheers for now Paul
